We moved to Yuendumu in late 2005 to work for PAW Media and Communications. We thought we were going to be here for 18 months. But four years later we are still here. We’ve now got Warlpiri skin names and a smattering of Warlpiri.
We’ve set up g
arden beds, planted trees, got chickens and a couple of part dingo dogs along the way. Back in Sydney we lived in an inner city house with a small garden and lots of city bussle. Its been quite a journey.
Our Moving Lines website used to be a business website with information about what we did and how you could contact us. We got business through it, even if sometimes the phone calls were about asking for a quote for moving house from one suburb to another.
Now our site is just for this and that as the mood strikes us and about anything we want to share. We are parents and grandparents at a distance, we live in an Intervention community, we are learning more about living sustainably and how to garden in an arid environment, we are trying to grapple with issues of what will happen to us when we retire, we are worried about the planet.
So drop in every now and again and leave a comment if anything catches your attention.
