Susan Locke
B.A, Grad. Dip. Ed (Technical), Grad. Certificate in Public History, Librarianship Certificate
Susan Locke has qualifications in adult education, information science/technology, government, and public history. Susan has had a wide range of work roles including librarianship, teaching in vocational education and training organisations, developing information technology curriculum and resources, managing IT projects, rural community development, and website design and development.
During
2000 to 2004 Susan designed, implemented and managed the NSW
Community Technology Centre Program, a major NSW Government managed
community development project for rural NSW. She led her team in 2003,
in the achievement of a Silver Premier's Award for services to rural NSW.
In 2004 Susan commenced postgraduate studies in public history and film and video. Her particular interests are in Aboriginal history, and she combines that interest with an intention to explore the telling of community stories through documentary film. Her studies are currently on hold while she is based in Yuendumu. Yuendumu itself is providing her with many rich experiences that she hopes will be able to be brought back into her studies at a later time.
