New media and you
New media enables you to deliver your message or story in new and exciting ways. What is new media? It is the use of digital media and computer technology to create innovative and interactive instructional and presentation materials for delivery via CD, DVD and the Internet.

Communicating
with new media
Getting your message out through new media is very different to using print. Not simply because the production technologies are different, but because the way in which people receive new media messages is very different.
It
is important that your message quickly grabs the attention of people in a
world that has become increasingly visually sophisticated as
well as increasingly "time poor". People expect to have their attention
grabbed almost in the first nine to ten seconds. If your product doesn't quickly
engage then its simply a matter of a click of a mouse or channel changer
for people to channel surf elsewhere.
And it is important that your message be structured and "served up" in the bite size best suited for the channels over which your message or story is going to be delivered. Serving up a single 10MB video file for a rural based audience without access to broadband is not a sensible way to get your message out. Some of the best multimedia on the web are those sites where the story/message has been carefully structured in response to the delivery platforms. Check out the ABC's Homeless online documentary for a great example of how this can be done.
It is into this volatile mix of story structure and delivery platforms that Moving Lines brings both its website design skills and its digital media and arts production skills and experience.
